CAN I BOTHER YOU?
(DANCE BREAK)
2026 | Dance for Film
Created for Zeke Pujols' short film Can I Bother You?
Artistic Statement
Created as a choreographic sequence within Zeke Pujols' short film Can I Bother You?, this work gives physical form to the internal thoughts and desires of a male character pursuing a romantic interest. Existing between reality and imagination, the dancers embody the emotional and psychological landscape unfolding within the character's mind.
Through fluid partnering, charged interactions, and dynamic movement, the choreography explores attraction, longing, fantasy, and vulnerability. The dancers serve as extensions of the character's inner world, expressing emotions that remain unspoken and invisible within the film's narrative.
Rather than simply illustrating desire, the work investigates the complexity of human attraction and the tension between thought and action, fantasy and reality. By externalizing the character's internal experience, the choreography transforms emotion into movement, revealing the intensity of longing that often exists beneath the surface of everyday interactions.
